Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Fri, 8 Jan 2016

Interviewed Apr 2012 in Washington, DC(took 1 days)
I received a phone call, where I got to speak with a hiring manager. A flurry of questions were asked about current skills and past job experience. Education was touched upon. The job was described in detail, and I was asked if the requirements sounded acceptable. They were, and so a salary level was quoted. That sounded good as well, so an acceptance letter was sent in the mail, along with a date to report for work, and an address.

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Mon, 11 Jan 2016

Interviewed Mar 2014(took 120 days)
If you make it through the online application and numerical (SHL) tests, you get to a video interview of a few pre-recorded questions. You can re-record your answer once if you make a mistake. The website is quite slow and can stop/start which causes the questions to re-play and makes the process quite time-consuming, but otherwise the questions are not difficult - nothing out of the ordinary. There's no time limit between your 1st and 2nd recording attempt so you can take a few minutes to practice or jot down ideas after your 1st attempt. I had a negative experience overall because after 4 months of no response, I followed up and was told that 'due to unforeseen circumstances, this role has been put on hold.'

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Wed, 3 Feb 2016

Interviewed null -1 in Houston, TX(took 7 days)
I submitted my resume online and got a call pretty quickly. They wanted to set up a phone interview. Things seemed fine at first, but then the HR person became dismissive and kind of sexist. When I told him what I did, he paraphrased what I told him starting with "so you just do X" and I told him, "well, no I added value by Y and Z." He asked if I applied anywhere else, I told him "no, this was the only company I'd applied to" (which was the truth). He paraphrased with "but you're looking at other positions too?" And I said, "well if this doesn't work out I will continue looking". I was confused, because it felt like he either wasn't listening or was just trying to put words in my mouth. The final straw was when he asked if my husband would be okay with me doing fieldwork. It was a frustrating and confusing process.
