AECOM Translator (Uncleared) Interview

Very Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Fri, 16 Mar 2018

Interviewed in Virginia (took 21 days)
The interview process took around 3 weeks. First I was contacted by a recruiter and had a basic phone screening. Several days later I was sent a short 300-word at-home translation test I had 3 days to complete. Then I took a 3-hour long in-house translation test; no internet usage was allowed, only paper dictionaries. Lastly I went in for the face-to-face interview. I'm not sure what happened with the other translator who posted last month about how they got through the entire process and final interview but were simply never called back; to me the final interview seemed like a basic screening to make sure that you were a decent human being and would get along with the team. The interview was not situational or behavioral but more of a 30-minute conversation with 3 program managers about how and why I got into learning language, the nature and duration of the contract, who some of my coworkers would be, training and work from home options, etc. It seemed like a hard interview to screw up. I had a call back by the end of the day that I got the job and will be starting in 2 weeks.
