Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 14 Apr 2017

Interviewed Nov 2,016 in Groton, CT (took 42 days)
I had a brief phone interview where they asked very simple questions about my previous work experience. I was asked to come in for an onsite interview the following week. My interview went well. It was a group/board process rather than one on one. Five people asked several questions each pertaining to the area they ran. Everyone seemed to be very friendly, it became less like an interview and more like pleasant banter. After they reviewed my portfolio, disappointed I didn't have flash examples. The listing online didn't have any mention of needing skills in flash nor did the pre-interview make note of that as a skill requirement. Though I did have experience in the program, it seemed I could not make up for failing to bring samples along. They proceeded to show me around, introduce me to staff and walk me through the process of their projects. I sat with the head of the group I would presumable work under, he showed me which software they used and a typical production. After they walked me in to speak with the HR representative who was less than friendly. At the end, the owner of the branch walked me out personally and shook my hand, said I would hear from them very soon, that he looked forward to working with me. Four weeks later, they rejected me. Over all, I was unprepared for an interview because of misprinted data.
